Ben Barry
Ben Barry (he/him) is a fashion educator, scholar and academic leader who is committed to liberation in fashion education and the fashion industry. As Chair of the School of Fashion at Ryerson University, Ben is leading the department through a deep transformation by embedding inclusion, decolonization and sustainability into the curriculum and culture. He is currently editing the forthcoming anthology The Fashion Activist: Transforming Fashion Education and Ending Body Oppression for Intellect Books, and he often writes about fashion education and inclusion for the Business of Fashion and other outlets. He is an Associate Professor of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Fashion and teaches courses that range from lectures on fashion theory to studios on design justice. He also leads executive education programs on inclusive fashion practices for fashion brands. Ben holds a PhD in Management from Cambridge University.
