Anti-Fashion: Resisting the Fashion Establishment

Brigantine Room

Moderator(s):

Anti fashion is coined broadly as fashion that is contrary to its present trends. Rather than creating fashion works that prioritize trends, Indigenous artists value ancestral knowledge and Indigenous issues. Continuing on the path of sustainable representation, this panel discusses furthering anti-fashion within the Indigenous context of textile knowledge, fashion art and design, and connections to nation and family.
