Heather Kiskihkoman is a multidisciplinary Indigenous artist living & working in Nipisihkopahk, Maskwacîs, Alberta. From the Rez, Heather interpreters beauty & healing through her work as a way to decolonize her thinking and way of life. Heather holds a BFA from Parsons The New School in Paris, France (2010) and a B.Ed from the University of Alberta (2014). Following five years of teaching, Heather refocused on developing her artistic practice in traditional beadwork, quillwork & tattooing. Heather’s work is reminiscent of her ancestors’ intricately handcrafted garments, with inspiration from modern life and influences.
