The Sister Bears’ family includes Valerie (eldest sister bear), Kathleen (the sister who maintains the middle balance), and Malinda (youngest sister bear). Sisters Bears are an Anishinaabe family and Lac Des Mille Lacs First Nation members with a familial connection to Fort William First Nation. The 3 Sister Bears learned to bead and create beading patterns from their Grandparents, Aunties and other family members. Sister Bear Designs includes four generations of artists and offers works of beaded jewelry and accessories, traditionally tanned hides, one-of-a-kind porcupine quill and birch bark pieces and beautifully sewn traditional and contemporary clothing.
