Mi nombre es Jeannette Paulina Canio Ñanculeo y nací en Santiago de chile el 29 de junio de 1967. Soy mujer originaría del pueblo mapuche, artesana indígena desde el año 2004. El nombre de mi emprendimiento es “Janekeo Kanio, origen y tradición”.

Desde el año 2008 me dedico exclusivamente al desarrollo de piezas artesanales. Participé en el “Programa de Compatibilidad, Innovación y Diseño para MIPES Chilenas”, certificado otorgado por el servicio de cooperación técnica, Sercotec y el centro de promotor de diseño de México.

Obtuve un diploma otorgado por el Programa de Diseño y mejoramiento continuo como herramienta estratégica para el emprendimiento, Convenio REMADE IN CHILE, Escuela de Diseño de la Universidad de las Américas y FOSIS.

Mi especialidad es la orfebrería tradicional de mi pueblo. Elaboro aros en metal de plata, pectorales y otras piezas de la línea tradicional. El 22 de diciembre del 2012 obtuve la certificación de Producto Indígena del Instituto de Asuntos Públicos de la Universidad de Chile.

En el año 2016 participé en el “Taller Laboral para Mujeres Mapuche Urbanas”, fortaleciendo mis conocimientos de orfebrería mapuche a través del programa “Yo Emprendo” en comunidad ejecutado por “Agrupación de Mujeres Mapuche Xanalawen” y financiado por FOSIS, fondo de solidaridad de inversión social. En el mismo año realicé una pasantía, financiada por la Corporación de desarrollo indígena CONADI, World indigenous Business Fórum, en Saskatoon, Canadá. El año 2023 obtuve un financiamiento y capacitación “Yo emprendo” financiado por Fosis y ejecutado por la Consultora Integrando.

Actualmente participo de diversas ferias y exposiciones de artesanía en la Ciudad de Santiago de Chile.

My name is Jeannette Paulina Canio Ñanculeo and I was born in Santiago de Chile on June 29, 1967. I am an Indigenous woman of the Mapuche community and an artisan since 2004. The name of my business is “Janekeo Kanio, origin and tradition.”

Since 2008 I have dedicated myself exclusively to the development of handmade pieces. I participated in the “Compatibility, Innovation and Design program for Chilean MIPES”, certificate awarded by the technical cooperation service Sercotec, and the design promoter center of Mexico.

I obtained a diploma awarded by the Design and Continuous Improvement Program as a strategic tool for entrepreneurship, REMADE IN CHILE Agreement, School of Design of the University of the Americas and FOSIS.

My specialty is the traditional goldsmithing of my community. I make silver metal rings, pectorals and other pieces of the traditional line. On December 22, 2012, I obtained the Indigenous Product certification from the Institute of Public Affairs of the University of Chile.

In 2016 I participated in the “Labor Workshop for Urban Mapuche Women”, strengthening my knowledge of Mapuche goldsmithing through the “Yo Emprendo” program in the community executed by the “Agrupación de Mujeres Mapuche Xanalawen” and financed by FOSIS, solidarity fund of social investment. In the same year I completed an internship, funded by the Indigenous Development Corporation CONADI, World Indigenous Business Forum, in Saskatoon, Canada. In 2023 I obtained financing and training by “Yo emprendo” financed by Fosis and executed by Integrando Consulting.

I currently participate in various craft fairs and exhibitions in the City of Santiago, Chile.
